About Faith Assembly
Old roots.
New season.
Since 1944, Faith Assembly has been a place where Millington meets Jesus. We’re not done yet.
Our story
Since 1944
Faith Assembly began as a brush arbor church in Kerrville: a handful of believers worshiping under a shelter of branches, praying for God to move in their community. He did. For generations since, this church has been part of the fabric of north Shelby County.
We’ve been blessed with a long line of faithful pastors and ministers, and this church is known across the state for its history and the men of God who have led it. Around the turn of the century, a dream many people had carried for years came true: a home on Highway 51, where the whole town drives by.
Today Faith Assembly is in a new season. Longtime members who have prayed here for decades are making room for young families, new believers, and people coming back to church after years away. Same Jesus. Same Spirit. A lot more high chairs.
Mission
Help Millington know Jesus, be filled with His Spirit, and live on mission.
Working statement. A final version is coming.
Vision
A church where every generation worships together and no one in our town is too far from grace.
Servanthood
We follow a Savior who washed feet. From the coffee bar to the parking lot to food distribution, we lead by serving.
Courage
We speak the truth in love and aren’t shy about it. We pray bold prayers and expect God to move.
Community
Nobody follows Jesus alone. From Wednesday night meals to Sunday afternoons, we make room at the table.
What we believe
The essentials
We’re a Spirit-filled, charismatic church, part of the Assemblies of God, a worldwide Pentecostal fellowship. Here is what we believe in plain language.
AG Statement of Fundamental TruthsThe Bible
The Bible is God’s inspired Word. It is true, it is trustworthy, and it is our final authority for faith and life.
God
There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is coming again. Salvation is by grace through faith in Him alone.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives in every believer. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit and that His gifts are for today. You’ll see people pray and worship with passion here.
Healing
God still heals. We pray for the sick and trust Him with the outcome.
Baptism and communion
We practice water baptism by immersion for believers and share communion together once a month.
The church
The church is God’s family, called to worship, grow, and reach the world, starting with our own neighbors.
How we’re led
A church built
by its members
Faith Assembly is a membership-driven church. Everything that happens here comes from the stewardship and faithfulness of our members, who pray, serve, give, and make the decisions that shape our future together.
Leadership
Who you’ll meet

Pastor
Simon Davenport
Simon came to faith in his twenties, out of a life of partying and addiction. A powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit changed everything, and he started preaching almost immediately.
Before coming to Faith Assembly three years ago, he served at larger churches in New York City and Huntsville, Alabama. Simon and his wife, Lacey, have two kids, Lily and Moses. Lacey leads Faith Kids.
